I leave in a few minutes for Camp Seymour, where I spend three days every June teaching the finer points of kayaking and navigation to the YMCA trip leaders for the year. It’s usually a fairly relaxed trip, three days of paddling in some of the most interesting and beautiful spots in south Puget Sound, and when it’s over, I am always happy to have done it.
I am sure I will be again this year. It’s just that there seems to be so many other details still to be done for Alaska, I sort of wish I could stay in town and make some progress on them. Then again, when it comes to planning, if you wait until the last minute, it only takes a minute.
