North of the border

I’m planning on heading over to Vancouver Island for this weekend’s Pacific Paddling Symposium. Should be a great opportunity to get out on the water with paddlers from all over and I’m looking forward to the Canadian premiere of The Secrets of Augustine.

Quite a few beach cleanups and other events coming up in the next few months… I’ll post more information on the Facebook page as it comes in. Check back for updates.

The symposium is taking advantage of Vancouver Island’s amazingly beautiful southern coast just west of Victoria. I have paddled across from the mouth of the Elwha River to the Race Rocks area before, and I’ve had the chance to sample some of what this place has to offer, but I am looking forward to seeing more. I am also curious to see what the beaches look like on that side of the Strait, how much debris they may or may not collect. I’ll be doing a short presentation along with the film and heading back on Sunday.

Busy.
