Addressing a drinking problem

It is estimated that up to 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. We’re going to get a little help with that on this year’s expedition. Kokatat is sending each of us the Tributary Hydration System, a pouch that attaches to the back panel of our PFD’s, that comes with a water bag and has a tube that comes around to the front so we can drink when we need to, with both hands free.

I’ve always been a water bottle guy and around camp I will still be using a bottle. While paddling, however, especially when the water gets lumpy, I know I don’t stay nearly as hydrated as I should, simply because it’s complicated to get the water I need sometimes. I’ve been using a similar setup for the past few years when I go backpacking; it’s about time to get my kayaking kit up to speed as well.
