I thought we weren’t going to do that whole Daylight Savings time change anymore. Thought we had moved past it. Guess not.

Change is hard, for all sorts of reasons. “Because it’s always been like that,” is one of the most enduring answers to why change is stifled, for no real good reason other than that we lack the mental energy and resolve to switch from one path to another. It’s easy to complain about the shortcomings of a system while doing nothing of any real consequence to fix it. And we do like easy. When you get down to it, we still have Daylight Savings Time, even though we have said that we don’t want it, because it doesn’t matter enough to us to make the change.

So too, with plastic.
