The Tacoma Shoreline Survey is a chance each year for volunteers to come together to clean Tacoma’s thirteen miles of beaches as they track specific debris and share the results online. The event, coming up on May 6th, is a collaboration between the Ikkatsu Project and South Sound Surfrider and this year we’ll be headquartered at Jack Hyde Park on Ruston Way, although various groups will be working at other places throughout the day.

We’ll be using the Clean Swell app once again to track what we find and compare results. It’s simple to use, pretty intuitive and a whole lot easier than pencil and paper. Download the app for free and watch this short, but incredibly good, video on how to use it for the cleanup.
