Another Load

The fourth and final 2022 Stewardship Session at Tacoma’s Puget Creek went down on Saturday. A solid group of volunteers turned out and did yeoman’s work, pulling over 300 pounds of debris out of the creek and the surrounding area. Major thanks to Dr. Peter Hodum for his informative discussion of the birds that live in and transit the gulch, dispensing education before the exertion began.

A big thanks goes out to South Sound Surfrider for a great partnership all year long with the Stewardship Sessions. When it comes to cleanups, Surfrider has it covered, every month, everywhere in the south Sound. Big thanks to Tacoma Metro Parks, as well, for all their help actually removing the stuff we picked up and getting it properly disposed of. Look for a schedule of 2023 stewardship opportunities coming soon.
