The Talking and the Rocking

A month or so ago, maybe a bit more, I posted a “save-the-date” for this Year’s Ikkatsu Project Giving Tuesday Party, set for November 29th, at Millhouse, in Proctor. (Especially for those of you reading this from outside the local area, for whom much of the preceding sentence may be difficult to decipher, please get in touch. Directions are available.)

It has always been a great night and this year it is even more gratifying to announce that Susan Conrad will be the evening’s featured speaker. Susan is an accomplished sea kayaker with extensive experience in Southeast Alaska and she’ll be on hand to share some of what she has been doing, including reflections on her time at Cape Decision as an Ikkatsu Project volunteer, surveying and clearing marine debris off of remote wilderness beaches.

As if that wasn’t enough, in case you need further persuasion, our musical guests, Sweet Mother, will provide the soundtrack. This Tacoma two-piece band mixes banjo and cello (or maybe guitar and washboard?), with unique and harmonious offerings of bluegrass and rock. It is going to be must-hear.

So, seriously, block off the time. 6pm-9pm. November 29th. So many reasons to be there. Thank you so much for your support!
