Back to the Gulch

Scheduled for next month is the third installment in this year’s Puget Creek stewardship opportunities, this time with an eye to the community. The first date in January focused on the water that flows through the area, where it comes from and where it is going. In April, we took a look at the possibility that Puget Creek could once again become a bearing salmon stream and what that would mean for the area.

On August 21st, we’ll be back at it, continuing the cleanup and water monitoring efforts, as well as working on the picnic zone just off of Alder Street at the north entrance to the natural area. A few brush clearing and minor construction projects, along with a great presentation from Pretty Gritty Tours on the human history of Puget Creek, and this promises to be a morning you don’t want to miss.

Thanks to the usual suspects* for making this all come together once again and thanks to every volunteer who takes the time to make a difference. Click the volunteer tab on the Ikkatsu Project Home Page to register. See you there!
