The 2022 Tacoma Shoreline Survey is just a couple days away… time for an update:

First off, the weather looks like it might cooperate. After a couple weeks of wind and rain, not to mention snow, hail and lightning, the weather oracles are calling for Saturday to be comparatively mild. Mix of sun and cloud with the highs pushing up to about 60 degrees. That will be fine, no?

If you haven’t checked out the app yet, now is the time. It’s easy to use (watch the 4-minute film to see how it all works), and when you share the results of your efforts with the Ikkatsu Project via the intuitive email option provided, you’ll be instantly eligible to win gear from Werner Paddles, Klean Kanteen and Exped.

Now, you don’t have to be present to win, but we’d love to have you stop by and say hello. We’ll be at Jack Hyde Park on the Old Town Tacoma waterfront with event partners from South Sound Surfrider from 10am – 3pm. We’ll have buckets you can use if you’re planning to work on one of the nearby beaches and don’t forget to bring some work gloves with you. Bring us the debris you’ve collected and we’ll weigh it, sort it and get it where it needs to go.
