Oil and water don’t mix. Pretty sure this has come up here before and I say the same thing every time. If you really think about what we are prepared to give up just so we can have cars and roads to drive them on, the whole thing quickly becomes surreal. This week, we’re giving up a clean shoreline in southern California (again), along with an unknown number of fish, seabirds and marine mammals. Nothing really changes in this. In some ways it’s not really even news. Sadly, the price for our comfort and convenience seems to be a continuing of that tired old cycle of death and destruction.
