Back in Wrangell now after almost three weeks out at Cape Decision. It was another great trip, with amazing people out there at the edge of the map, doing important work in one of the most stunningly beautiful places on Earth. There will be more details to come in the next few days and weeks but for now, I can say that a dozen volunteers over two of those weeks cleaned four separate beaches, removed almost a half-ton of debris, set up one new deposition study beach and carried on deposition data collection for the 4th straight year on another section of Kuiu Island shoreline.
Special thanks to the Cape Decision Lighthouse Society once again for the great symbiosis and to the volunteers who gave of their own time, sweat and money to be a part of this effort. Like I said, there will be more to come but for now, here are some photos that will hopefully begin to give a view of what it was all about.
