Hot Flashes

Have you seen this? Did the news of the latest Atlantic Ocean heat wave make it through the clutter of stories about hydroxychloroquine, political incompetence and athletes with the rona? Have you seen any photos of the strange fish that are being caught up and down the northeastern seaboard? (Strange in the sense that they belong much further south, but also fairly exotic-looking in their own right.) What is an ocean heat wave? Why are they predicted to become more common and how will they affect us all in the future?

Because of our general inability to grasp large concepts and the rest of the background noise, this piece of climate change reality will be a one-day story but its effects will last longer than the virus and have a greater impact than whatever other buffoonery makes the news today.
