As for the planet and our small place on it, the current administration has continued on its ongoing efforts to destroy what little remains. Whether it’s desert, mountains or tidewater, everything is taking hits and it doesn’t feel like it’s going to be over until it’s all gone and any talk of preservation or conservation is rendered moot.
I’ve been thinking lately, as I’m watching all the environmental progress get rolled back, negated, turned completely around, that some things, once they are gone, don’t ever come back. That we are not going to get different results by trying the same things over again. That hope is not a strategy. Neither is inaction. Most of all, I’ve been thinking that if you’re trying to destroy something, you just have to be successful once, but if you are trying to protect something, you have to win every time.
That’s as motivational as it gets.
