Whether this is, as the song insists, the “most wonderful time of the year,” or simply the most painfully excessive, there’s no denying that it’s the busiest. It’s ironic, we cram so much into such a short span of time, go through money faster than we can make it, strive for that picture-perfect holiday, and still have the brass to talk about peace on Earth. We all want it but it seems even more elusive at this particular time of year.
With that in mind, all that stress and Christmas cheer (real and imaginary), it might be good to take an hour or two – or a day or two – for some personal peace and good cheer this holiday season. Unplug, turn the phone off and go for a paddle. Or a hike. Be hard to find. Get to a mountain, or a beach. Feel the peace.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
