This past weekend, camped out on the edge of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, the coast of Vancouver Island looked close enough to touch. It has been such a warm winter, it almost makes me think it would be a good year for a paddle. The winter of 2008, the year I tried for a Vancouver Island circular route, was really cold. This year, on the other hand, would have been an excellent choice.
