It’s a simple fact that the Hyas yiem won’t be finishing the trip with the same exact bottles she started with. I’m not in need of any major repairs and the barnacle damage that has been done is probably going to have to stay anyway, but this one bottle jumped ship already. It’s from the top rail and it’s not really needed for floatation, but I’m going to try to replace it (and the one that is still hanging on by its glue on the other side), on Friday. It’s a short trip this week, just up to Anacortes from Bowman Bay, and that will leave the last 3-day stretch through the San Juans to Bellingham for the 15th-17th.

It doesn’t matter whether your boat is made out of plastic bottles or carbon fiber. Repairs are a constant requirement.
