When we first got the idea to go out looking for marine debris, we didn’t hear much other noise on the issue. There were those out there beating the drum, to be sure, but nothing like how it is now. The tsunami of March, 2011, had a lot to do with the interest in what the ocean has to say about modern civilization, but the points go deeper than that one incidence.

We’re getting input on all sides now – and with planning proceeding apace for the plastic bottle kayak expedition next spring, we’re getting even more. We thought it might be interesting to share these photos from Rick Eisele and his recent trip to Prince of Wales Island in SE Alaska. The more we know, the more there is to see. The more we see, the more there is to know.
