Too much good news

Steve and I are sitting in Forks at the moment, with the showing coming up at Peninsula College in a few hours. Earlier this morning, we went out to visit John Anderson, beachcoming legend, and see his immense collection of flotsam. He’s been collecting since the mid-70’s and his finds are epic. More on John and our visit in another post. To come soon, I’m sure.

But the real news du jour is that we now have a boat sponsor for this year’s Augustine expedition. (If you watch The Roadless Coast, you may or may not notice that our boats are a little bit of the old and battered type… hell, my boat hasn’t even been made for 6 years.) With the trip this year requiring us to be able to pack more stuff for a longer stretch of time than the last expedition, we were in need of newer kayaks that can haul it all.

And this is where Seaward Kayaks comes in. We just got the word that Seaward will be providing us with the largest single touring boats they make, their Quest x3, and we couldn’t be happier. Not only because our packing concerns are taken care of now but also because Seaward has taken the opportunity to show that they believe in what we’re doing to the point that they want to be a part of it. That’s a big deal to us and we are very grateful for their support.
