Mulligan Thursday

I had some time last week to get reacquainted with the White River. A drive up 410 to the White River/Sunrise exit, looking for the best access from the road, finding some of the river’s choke points, places where the meandering stream turns into Class IV+. There are a lot of trees down in some of the campground loops and not many cars or people around. I took the cameras just in case I saw anything interesting. It’s been a while since I’ve flown the drone too, so I was looking forward to seeing what kind of aerial views I might be able to get.10585848165_c271e2be22_z

Long story short, there was an update to the drone app that I hadn’t downloaded and, being that I was well out of range when I discovered this inconvenient truth, I was in no position to download it at that time. A classic Catch-22, nothing else to do but fall back, regroup, and make the next move. The aerial view would have to wait.

I’m going up again this Thursday, taking a mulligan. Already thinking about it. Is it odd that I just can’t get enough of the river? I could watch it flowing past me all day long.

And I’ll take the drone… who knows? It could work just fine this time.
