We had a humpback whale cruise by the house on Sunday evening, just outside the kelp line, surface a few times and then he was gone. Unfortunately, I didn’t see him. I was home, but I wasn’t in the right place at the right time to actually witness his passing.
That’s how it is with a lot of things. They happen quickly and then the moment is gone, whether you are around to see them or not. Just a reminder to stay alert and in the moment.
The whale has been in the area for at least a week now, filling up on the local seafood appetizers before moving on. I am hoping that we will still get the chance to meet.
