Layering up

I’m about to head out for a day of paddling. Leaving from Hobuck Beach and heading south to that little cove near Portage Head where we were gobsmacked by the quantity of debris we found back on the Roadless Coast expedition. (We’ve been back to that beach a couple times since then, done some more surveying and a bit of cleanup.) I don’t know what to expect from today. I just hope the conditions aren’t overly taxing. A little bit taxing would be ok…

On the drive out yesterday, I took a couple breaks at a few beaches that I like to stop at when I can. It’s strange, now that I’ve trained myself to see the plastic that’s there, I can’t help but notice it. Shine tidelands has always been one of my favorite places in Puget Sound. It has a lot of different looks, depending on the angle you’re viewing it from. The photo above is taken from the angle I was using yesterday.
